PLC Practice assignment for no/nc

Assignment 1:-Develop a LAD program such that the lamp L1 should glow when the switch S1is made ON and the lamp gets OFF when switch S1 is made OFF.

Assignment 2:-
Develop a LAD program such that the Lamp L2 should not glow when switch S2is made ON Lamp should glow when switch S2 is made OFF.

Assignment 3:-
An out put lamp should get ON when two input switches S1 & S2are both ON.

Assignment 4:-
The lamp should ON when any one of the switches S1 or S2 is made ON or both the switches are ON.

Assignment 5:-
The lamp should glow when either the switch (S1 & S2) or S3 is ON.

Assignment 6:-
The lamp should glow when the switch (S1 & S2) or (S3& S4) is pressed.

Assignment 7:-
The lamp should glow when the switch (S1 or S2) & (S3or S4) is pressed.

Assignment 8:-
The lamp should glow when the switch (S1 or S2 or S3) & (S4 or S5) & S6 are pressed.

Assignment 9:-
The lamp should glow when the switch (S1 & S2 & S3) or (S4 & S5) or S6 is pressed.

Assignment 10:-
The lamp should glow when the switch S1& (S2 or S3) & (S4 or S5) are made ON.

Assignment 11:-
When the sensor of a tap in the bath room of an automated hotel senses the visitors hand by light sensor the tap gets open and water comes out to wash the visitor’s hand. When visitor takes his hand away from the tap the water flow stops automatically.

Assignment 12:-
In a Factory there is a fire sensor. When the sensor senses the fire or smoke the alarm will on. In that condition an emergency door will open & the factory people can run away. By deactivating the smoke sensor the door will close & normal factory work will go on.

Assignment 13:-
Draw  a lad such that when rain falls on the front glass of a car the viper get activated automatically through a sensor and continues till the rain get stopped. At the time of emergency the driver can stop and start the viper.

Assignment 14:-
Draw a lad for a motor cycle such that if the side stand is not removed, the engine start button is not pressed and the ignition key is not on the engine will not start. The ignition key is only activated when side stands is removed and engine button is made ON.
Assignment 15:-
Lamp L2 is glowing previously. Another lamp L1 should glow when any of the switches S1,S2, S3, S4, and S5 is pressed. Lamp L2 gets OFF when the lamp L1 glows.
Assignment 16:-
When the switch is made ON it makes a lamp L1OFF which is previously ON. When L1 gets OFF another lamp L2gets ON which is previously OFF.

Assignment 17:-
In a room when the switch S1 is made on fan will be on. Another switch S2 is made on the bulb B1 will on. When the switch S3 is made on bulb B1 will off & bulb B2 will on.

Assignment 18:-
When the switch S1 is made ON the lamp B1 should glow. When the switch S2 is made ON the lamp B2 should glow. When the switch S3 is made ON the lamp B3 should glow. When the switch S4 is made ON the entire lamp should OFF and B4gets OFF which was previously ON.

Assignment 19:
When the switch S1 is made ON the lamp B1 should glow. When the switch S2 is made ON the lamp B2 should glow. When the switch S3 is made ON the lamp B3 should glow. When the switch S4 is made ON the entire lamp should OFF and B4 gets ON.

Assignment 20:-
In a house when the switch S1 is made on Gate No-1 is open. When the switch S2 is made on Gate No- 2 is open. When the switch S3 is made on Gate No-3 is open. When the switch S4 is made on all the gates are closed & all the 3 rooms’ bulbs get on automatically.

Assignment 21:
A fan is to run when all the following conditions are met:
a) Switch S1is kept OFF.
b) Switch S2 or S3 is made ON.
c) Switch S4 & S5 are made ON
d) Switch S6 or S7 or S8 is made ON.

Assignment 22:-
In side a city bus all the fans can run when:-
a) The entrance door is closed.
b) Driver wind up his seat belt.
c) The bus engine is started &
d) A stop switch is made OFF.
At any moment if driver wants he can OFF the fans.

Assignment 23:-
Draw a lad when a train come the railway crossing gate is closed and the red indication lamp glows automatically. After the train passes away the gate opens and the green light glows. And at any time if any emergency occurs the gate can be closed by another switch making the indication light red and opened by indicating green light.

Assignment 24:-
Draw a lad diagram for logic such that in an office having two chamber. Each chamber having one light point one AC point & one computer point. All points can be ON separately. The appliances can be stopped from a main control panel only. The main control panel is having an emergency stop switch to stop the total process.

Assignment 25:-
In an automated city bus when any passenger press a push button a buzzer will sound and then goes OFF. When the buzzer is sounds the bus driver comes to know that he has to stop the bus. After the bus gets stopped he opens the exit door for the passenger to go out by making a switch on and when the passenger goes out he will off the same switch to close the door.

Assignment 26:-
When a sensor senses the light it makes 5 street lights off in a colony lane & makes a red indicator lamp on and simultaneously makes a green indicator lamp off. When the sensor senses the dark the street light will on which makes the green indicator lamp on & red indicator lamp off.

Assignment 27:-
Write a program for a car door/seat belt safety system. When any of the car doors is open there will be an indication at the driver seat that doors are not properly closed. The car engine can only be started when all the doors are properly closed, all the seat belts are properly wind up and the ignition power is made on. Failing to any of the above condition will not allow the program to start the engine.

Assignment 28:
Develop ladder logic for a car door and inside light system.  If any of the car door, out of four doors is opened or a switch S1 inside the car is made ON a lamp L1inside the car gets ON .When all the four doors are closed and switch S1 is kept open the lamp inside the car gets OFF. If all the 4 doors are opened and switch S1 is made ON the lamp inside the car can be made OFF by pressing another switch S2. If all the car doors are closed, then the inside lamp can be made ON by switch S1 and can be made OFF by switch S2.

Assignment 29:-
There are three fans in a room and are controlled individually by toggle switches there is a panel board out side the room.
In the panel board there are three different color lamps RED, YELLOW and GREEN.
Draw logic in LAD such that when the following condition satisfied the indicator light should glow in panel board.
a)      If all the three fans are running the RED lamp glows in panel board at that time YELLOW and GREEN should off.
b)  If any two fans are running the YELLOW lamp glows at that time RED and GREEN should off.
c)  If any one fan is running the GREEN lamp glows at that time RED and YELLOW should off.

Assignment 30:-
In a factory there is a switch at the entry gate when it is pressed a main contactor gets ON. When the main contactor is on it makes 5 number of lights off which was running last night in the factory corridor. The corridor lamps are loaded on a separate contactor. When the corridor lights are off, other 6 numbers of lamps in main office building and room’s gets on which is loaded on another contactor.

Assignment 31:-
The following logic is designed for an office store room which is situated in between two corridors (corridor-1, C1 and corridor-2, C2) inside an office building.
There are two doors each one from the corridors (means door D1 for C1 and door D2 for C2) to enter inside the room.
If any of the doors is opened (means either D1 or D2) other door will not open at any circumstances.
When any of the doors is open two bulbs B1, B2 and one fan F1 gets on.
When both the doors are closed both bulbs and fan will off and an indication will be off there at the top of both the door means (I1 for D1 and I2 for D2) indicating that no one is present inside the room.

Assignment 32:-
There are four hazard inputs to the alarm system which get ON when the following logics occurs:
a) If one input is ON, nothing happens to alarm.
b) If any two inputs are ON, a pilot light glows.
c) If any three inputs are ON, the pilot light goes OFF & an alarm siren blows.
d) If all the four inputs are ON the fire department light glows with this the alarm siren goes ON as well as the pilot light also glows.

Assignment 33:-
Design a typical logic circuit for control of an oven in a painting process. The oven has two doors that both must be closed during the heating process. A fan must also run before the electric heating coils can be energized. A limit switch is mounted near each door to indicate whether door is closed or opened. A flow switch is mounted near the fan to indicate if the fan is moving air or not .If both the doors are closed and a start switch is made on the coil of control relay (CR) will become energized. When the NO contact of CR is closed the fan motor will be energized causing the fan to move enough air to close the flow switch. When the flow switch closes the electric heating coil will began to draw current and heat the oven.

Assignment 34:-
Four proximity switches (P1, P2, P3 and P4) are wired to a PLC. The status of each proximity switch will be displayed in a digital output depending up on the status of another 2 select inputs.

Assignment 35:-
9 numbers of alarm inputs are connected to a PLC. When an alarm comes to the PLC, the alarm-input number will be displayed by 4 digital outputs (4 bit binary equivalent).

Assignment 36:
There are three fans for cooling purpose of a system and the system is powered through K1 contactor. For proper operation of the system, any two fans, out of three, must run. Write program to start the reserve fan automatically in case of failure of any one of the two running fans. If any two fans fail, the incoming supply to the system (K1 contactor) must be off.
Hints:-Use one Start switch to start the fans (if Start is ON and all fans are healthy, Fan1 and Fan2 will start and Fan3 will be the reserve fan) and three fault switches for the three fans.

Assignment 37:
Three pumps are being monitored by a monitoring circuit, which in turn gives digital feedback to the PLC. In normal plan running condition at least 2 pumps should run. If any one of the running pumps fails, immediately an alarm will be made on. On rectification of the fault or after manually making the reserve pump on (restoration of normal condition) with a reset the alarm should go off.
